Fifth Circular: Registration for the Congress
Dear colleagues, Registration for the upcoming epigraphy congress is now open on the congress website.
How to register for the congress
Registration can only be carried out online via the congress website:
On this page, you will need to create a specific account to be able to register.
We remind you here that only those registered will be able to participate in the congress and receive the available documentation.
Most of our budget comes from the payment of registration fees, from which colleagues presenting a communication are not, as for all previous congresses, exempt. Registration and the payment of the related fees are made directly on the congress website.
Rates
However, the rates are different depending on your status and the date you register and pay your fees; a reduced rate will apply until March 31, 2022 (see table below). In addition, AIEGL members will benefit from a preferential rate: AIEGL members who are up to date with their membership fees (€25 per year) at the time of their registration for the Congress will benefit from a €30 reduction on their conference registration fee.
Events
The congress will have two receptions, the first on Monday 29 August, the other on Tuesday
30 August: no additional fee is required to participate, but we ask you to register explicitly, so
that we can evaluate the number of guests and establish a guest-list. Only those who have
registered will be able to take part in these receptions.
The afternoon of Wednesday 31 August, the conference organizers have arranged an excursion to Périgueux, with a guided tour of the Roman city and the Vesunna Museum, followed by a buffet dinner. For this excursion, registration is also mandatory and participants must pay a fee of €40.
For these events, registrations can be made until June 1, 2022.
Travel and accommodation
Transportation and accommodation costs will be at your own expense. Unfortunately, it was not possible for us to centralize accommodation options on the congress website, nor to offer preferential rates. We will place some recommendations on the website, but we invite you not to delay in making hotel reservations and transport tickets. Bordeaux is a very popular destination for tourists, especially at this time of year.
You will find on the site a location map of the buildings where the congress will be held, in the city centre, which will be of assistance as you plan your accommodation. Access from the railway station is relatively easy (about half an hour) and we can only encourage you, where possible, to take the train, a more convenient and environmentally friendly means of transport. Bordeaux is two hours by train from Paris (as well as Toulouse).
Finally, we remind you that you can subscribe to the congress mailing list at:

We are very much looking forward to welcoming you to the Bordeaux International Epigraphy Congress in August 2022.
With all best wishes for 2022,
On behalf of the CIEGL 2022
Organising Committee,
Pierre Fröhlich Milagros
